PLEASE READ FOR FUN ART HUNTING!
You will need to use both photo gallery (for browsing) and online store (for payment) to shop. Read the descriptions that accompany the photo. Original pieces and prints are mixed up without any order. Please know if the item is ORIGINAL or PRINT. It is clearly marked. About shipping After you placed an order I will email you a shipping invoice. I will try to do that within a day or so. Paying for shipping is easy. Just follow the link in the email and you can check out just like when you placed an order. I will not ship your order until the shipping fee is collected. This separate shipping fee applies only to Garage Sale items. Items with regular prices include shipping. I use a combination of FedEx Ground (now they call it FedEx Home Delivery) and US Postal Service. Local pick up is available, but you may want to consider that by the time you drive your car and pay for parking, it may be cheaper to have it shipped. Browsing Art In the photo gallery, item ID numbers (GS000 format) are either below the photo or at the top right column, depending on which viewer style you are on, and brief descriptions will follow after the ID number. These texts can also pop up when you put a cursor over the photo. I guess it also depends on which browser you are using, but I think you will find the corresponding texts to each item. Let's hope that the almighty Google designed it so everyone can see it. You can navigate by clicking on an arrow that's located at the very right edge of the browser to go to the next photo and clicking on an arrow at the very left edge to go to the previous photo. Garage sale store front has small photos, and prices are posted next to it. Sold items will not say "sold," but when you try to buy something that is already sold, it will not go into a shopping cart, saying the item is not available. If you add the same item twice by mistake, you will need to correct the quantity to 1. If the item is not available, it will say it's unavailable when the quantity is 1. It is made clear by stating either "ORIGINAL" or "PRINT." Most items are in a good condition. Some of them are a little dirty, beat up, or wrinkled, but hey, this is a garage sale. And some weathering adds a charm to the art! All prints are archival. There is really nothing wrong with those prints except that I didn't print them in a right size or right format. I know some people have issues with using credit cards online. I will try to accommodate that by other ways of payments.

Noble Cafe, the First Carbon Neutral Cafe, Opens in Oakland
Noble Cafe, the First Carbon Neutral Cafe, Opens in Oakland
An innovative and upscale cafe in Oakland, Noble Cafe, that resides on the ground floor corner of also upscale luxury apartment, the Grand, opens its door on Monday (tomorrow) to public. I am honored to show my linescaping art in this brand new contemporary food establishment.
I custom made most of the currently installed paintings to be blended into the interior elements of furniture, lighting, and the complex wall structures that are the signature of this stunning space. Everything, from its furniture to Barista, has been handpicked by Dimitri Thompson, the creator of Noble Cafe.
The grand pre-opening event took place on January 6, 2012, where Oakland Mayor Jean Quan came to cerebrate the birth of this new Café, which concept has local community and environment in mind, not just serving food and drink. I am usually very timid around politicians, but at that party, with a help of "Drew," the Senior Policy Advisor for Economic Development for Mayor's Office, I managed to exchange a few words with the mayor.
You can read about the nation's first carbon neutral cafe online at Noble Cafe website as well as other articles listed below.
A new Flickr set "Noble Project" includes installation of paintings at Noble Cafe, as well as other paintings that were made to test the design and color for this space.
Paintings displayed at Noble Cafe are all for sale. Purchase can be made only at the Noble Cafe register. 20% of the proceedings will be given back to community, which breaks down to City of Oakland / Parks and Recreation (10%) and local charities (10%).

C-030 Garden 301 of 2012 January
see larger photo
hang horizontally
hang vertically
DIMENSIONS: 48x36 inches (4x3 feet) and 1 1/2 inch deep (1.5 inch) ORIGINAL acrylic painting on stretched canvas
DATE: Produced in January 2012
NEWEST in OLD DESIGN: It was back in 2006 when I shifted my small works to larger scale paintings, I titled the very first large painting "Garden #301". At that time, I thought each painting was like a garden, not garden with flowers, trees, and rocks, but abstract garden that exists in our minds, where we are free to imagine anything we want.
The Garden series pieces, at the time, were numbered, which I eventually had to stop using because paintings looked very similar to each other and there were too many of them, becoming difficult to manage with a system with numbers, like 301, 306, 308, 318, and so on.
The first large painting, "Garden #301," was adopted to a Florida home in 2008, and I totally forgot about it until someone who recently saw it in Florida mentioned it. I looked at the photo of it and thought it the simplest design of all I had made and yet I actually did not make too many paintings in this black and white with rectangular simple design in this size of 3x4 feet. So I have made another Garden #301.
This is my newest painting in the oldest design - produced in 2012.

C-036 Q Reddish Purple Facing Left
BACK TO STORE
dimensions: 9x9 inches and 2 inch deep
ready to hang with wire on back
made in 2009
ABOUT “Q”
Q is a multi-color abstract eye candy. It is a paper collage on a wood box of 9x9x2 and varnished with epoxy resin on front and sides. Q (kyu) means 9 (because it's 9 inches in size) in the Japanese language, and also the mid part object looks like the character "Q." Q is also a "Q" of question, as one has to question herself/himself what this image looks like to her/him.
Each piece is one of a kind, different from others.
What you think this is what it is. Some see eggs, while others may see beans, rocks, jelly beans, and even potatoes. This is where "Subjective Truth" comes in. We all perceive things as truth within our capacity to imagine and understand.
The Japanese writing in the middle is a page of Noh script (learn about Noh).
This is the listing only for one piece of art posted on the above photo.
